Dr. Nash is a principal faculty member for quality of care programming for the American Association for Physician Leadership and leads their academic joint venture with JCPH. He serves on the NQF Task Force on Improving Population Health and the John M. Eisenberg Award Committee for The Joint Commission. He is also a founding member of the AAMC-IQ Steering Committee. Dr. Nash was recently appointed to the Board of the Pharmaceutical Quality Alliance (PQA) in Washington, DC. Dr. Nash serves on multiple boards and is currently Editor-in-Chief of American Journal of Medical Quality, Population Health Management, P&T, and American Health and Drug Benefits.

Dr. Reiss-Brennan is a medical anthropologist and psychiatric nurse practitioner working in primary care for over 35 years. As a principal investigator, she leads Intermountain Healthcare’s (IH) adoption, diffusion and evaluation of clinical integration for mental health and medical care. The cost and quality evidence of the Mental Health Integration (MHI) innovation has transformed primary care culture and has spread rapidly over 90 IH medical clinics including uninsured, rural and specialty, as well as 45 non-IH community clinics throughout the United States. MHI provides team-based culture for the advancement of IH medical health homes which supports the shared accountability driven by U.S. health reform. Dr. Reiss-Brennan holds a longstanding faculty appointment at the University of Utah, College of Nursing. She serves as a local, national and international consultant for cultural innovation, implementation and spread of MHI cost, quality and patient and staff experience research to improve population health.

Morey J. Menacker, is vice president of specialty care and care transition for Hackensack Meridian Health. Dr. Menacker has also served as vicechair of the Department of Medicine for Hackensack University Medical Center. He was interim Chair of Medicine at HUMC and has served as the president and CEO of Hackensack Alliance ACO. Dr. Menacker also practices internal medicine in Paramus at Forest Healthcare Associates. Prior to joining Hackensack Meridian Health, he practiced internal medicine at University Hospital where he later served as its Chief Medical Resident. He then went on to serve two years in the United States Public Health Service before serving as the Director of Internal Medicine Residency Program, and Vice President of Medical Affairs, at Bergen Pines County Hospital. More Americans (150M) receive health benefits through an employer than any other source of coverage. Millennials, ages 18-34 now number 75.4 million, surpassing the 74.9 million Baby Boomers (ages 51-69). Generation X (ages 35-50) is projected to pass the Boomers in population by 2028.
Employers continue to confront annual increases in the cost of health benefits. High cost conditions drive 30% of employer spend yet represent 1-2% of the employed population. Employers who want to maintain an engaged, productive workforce will need implement highly targeted population health and personalized medicine strategies to drive optimal health care value.
Today’s sessions will highlight Quest’s approach for our own employee health program that contributed to a negative cost trend in 2017. We will also share our vision for the near term achieved through innovative partnerships that maximize the value of clinical data within population health management programs.

The Medical Affairs team provides scientific support for product development and post market support to both internal teams and external customers. Quest has implemented several new programs to improve employee health and is experiencing significant improvement in cost trends. The Health & Wellness team partners with employers to implement flu vaccine programs, innovative workplace screening and population health solutions. Prior to joining Quest in May 2016, he served as SVP, Chief Medical Officer at WellCare Health Plans, a provider of government-sponsored managed care services. He has previous roles with Aetna, Centene, Express Scripts, Humana and Excellus BCBS. Dr. Goldberg is board certified in Family Medicine and has part-time practice in Indiana.

Previously, she was a Senior Practice Consultant helping community health centers in Washington State design reporting solutions for optimizing capitated managed care contracts and quality performance incentive programs. As part of this work, she also assisted with constructing interventions to identify and manage these health centers’ at-risk patient populations. Prior to that position, she spent five years developing and managing the Health Information Management department for a direct primary care practice centered in downtown Seattle and across the Puget Sound region.

Tom brings over 35 years of operating experience in healthcare transformation. He recently retired as CEO of Population Health at Philips, and continues to serve as Strategic Executive Advisor to the company. Tom joined Philips as part of its 2016 acquisition of Wellcentive, where he served as President and CEO. Tom is also Executive-in-Residence at both Summit Partners and Noro Moseley Partners and serves as Executive Chairman of the Board at Empyrean Benefit Solutions. Previously, he was the Chief Customer Officer of Elsevier after joining as President and CEO of Elsevier|MEDai. Tom was President and CEO of CareScience and COO of Transition Systems. Tom’s experience in healthcare and his commitment to customer focus began with his tenure at Jefferson Health System in Philadelphia. Dr. Drew Harris is Assistant Professor at the Thomas Jefferson University College of Population Health (JCPH) and Director of the Scholarly Inquiry Health Policy track at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College. He led JCPH’s effort to create the nation’s first Master of Science in Population Health for practicing health professionals and a new graduate program called Population Health Intelligence for clinical leaders challenged with turning health data into insight and action.
At Jefferson, he developed and teaches the core course, Essentials of Population Health, as well as the Health Policy: Analysis and Advocacy; Population Health Management Applications; and Population Health and Health Policy Capstone Seminar courses. He also developed and led JCPH’s week-long Population Health Academy.
Dr. Harris began his career in clinical practice specializing in the treatment of the lower extremity complications of diabetes and wound care. As president of the NJ Association for Biomedical Research, he represented the interests of the state’s pharma-based laboratory researchers.

Prior to this, he led the turnaround and growth of the Cooper Health System in Camden, NJ as CEO.

Prior to joining Rush, Darlene held a dual role with Public Allies Inc., as National Vice President of Programs and Executive Director for Public Allies Chicago and was Associate Director for the Metropolitan Chicago Breast Cancer Task Force. Darlene practiced law before transitioning to the nonprofit sector and was a partner in a law firm handling civil rights litigation. Dr. Trina Thompson began her career as an emergency room nurse in Pittsburgh, PA before becoming a manager for clinical and vascular ultrasound research laboratories. She directed the Ultrasound Research laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh and was employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield in Pittsburgh where she developed and evaluated hospital quality programs, designed innovative health programs and ensured quality metrics were met in the care management department. In 2012 she initiated and directed a new undergraduate public health program at Saint Francis University before joining the Jefferson College of Population Health as Executive Director of the 1889 Jefferson Center for Population Health. The rural Center for Population Health (CPH) is the first of its kind, a partnership between a rurally located philanthropic nonprofit, the 1889 Foundation and Thomas Jefferson University College of Population Health to improve rural health based on data and applied research.

Barbara Klinkhammer became Executive Dean of the College of Architecture and the Built Environment at Thomas Jefferson University in August 2012. She is recognized as a thought leader in architecture and urban design, as well as a women pioneer in the fields of architecture and construction. Klinkhammer came to Jefferson from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she served as a tenured professor in several administrative roles including Associate Dean, Chair of Interior Design, and Chair of the Graduate Architecture Programs. Prior to coming to the United States in 1999, Professor Klinkhammer taught for five years at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany.

Dr. Marino is a transplant surgeon and university professor who trained with Thomas Starzl, who performed the first liver transplant in humans. He has held chairs as Professor of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and currently at the Thomas Jefferson University. Between 2006 and 2013 he held a seat in the Italian Senate and from June 2013 to October 2015 he was Mayor of Rome, Italy.
He has published extensively, as clinician and essayist and is currently Senior Vice President for Srategic Affairs at Jefferson, promoting international research and collaborations.

David B. Nash was named the Founding Dean of the Jefferson College of Population Health (JCPH) which caps a 25-year tenure on the faculty of Thomas Jefferson University. He is also the Dr. Raymond C. and Doris N. Grandon Professor of Health Policy and a board-certified internist.
Dr. Nash is a principal faculty member for quality of care programming for the American Association for Physician Leadership and leads their academic joint venture with JCPH. He serves on the NQF Task Force on Improving Population Health and the John M. Eisenberg Award Committee for The Joint Commission. He is also a founding member of the AAMC-IQ Steering Committee. Dr. Nash was recently appointed to the Board of the Pharmaceutical Quality Alliance (PQA) in Washington, DC. Dr. Nash serves on multiple boards and is currently Editor-in-Chief of American Journal of Medical Quality, Population Health Management, P&T, and American Health and Drug Benefits.
